Potential burglary interrupted | Call for Volunteers - Saturday, May 12, 2012
Here is the news of the week:
  1. A neighbor in the 4800 block of Hanover reported an incident that occurred on Wednesday morning. The maid arrived at the home around 10:50am, and observed an unfamiliar small black four-door car (unknown make/model) in the driveway. A person (no description) was in the car, and when the maid pulled up in front of the home, the car sped away. When the maid went to unlock the door of the home, she discovered that the deadbolt lock on the door was broken.

The neighbor reported that she had only left the house a few minutes earlier, and wanted to remind everyone to be on the look-out for any potential suspicious activity when arriving or leaving home.
  2. Our crime watch group is seeking a volunteer to help us maintain our new web site. The ideal candidate will be able to post pictures, link retail photographs to their appropriate web site, and otherwise be proficient in maintaining a web site. (This job is pretty ad hoc – while we need a couple of hours of help now, on an ongoing basis the maintenance shouldn’t be more than 30- minutes to an hour every month.) If your skill set includes web site maintenance, please consider volunteering your time and talent.
  3. We are also looking for a volunteer, or group of volunteers, who would like to plan our National Night Out event on October 2. Please let us know if you’re interested in planning and coordinating what we hope will be a really fun event.
  4. City ordinance allows watering on Sunday and Thursdays for homes where the last digit of the address is 0, or an even number. Homes with the last digit of the street address ending in an odd number may water Wednesday and Saturday. Please re-set your sprinkler systems or plan your manual watering to coincide with this ordinance. No watering is allowed on Mondays, Tuesdays or Fridays and watering is prohibited between 10:00am and 6:00pm on the allowed watering days. Drip irrigation, soaker hoses, and hand-watering are permitted on any day.

Stay Safe!
